Classic Pie Crust (approx. 9")
170g all purpose flour
1/2 level tspn salt
1/2 cup Vegetable shortening (i use plain crisco brand)
3 tbsp Cold water

.
Mix flour and salt into a medium bowl.
Cut ur shortening into the bowl, using pastry blender (or 2 knives) until all flour is blended into form pea-size chunks (basically..go crazy cuting away ur shortening and flour until it becomes some clumpy peasize mixture)
Sprinkle with water, 1 tbsp at a time.
Toss lightly with a fork until dough forms (then use ur hands...BUT..wash hands first!!)
Flour the dough lightly, flour ur rolling pin and ur area use to roll ur dough..
roll it to be about 11 to 12" circle..and CAREFULLY flip the dough into ur pie plate.

*** Note this is to make the base and a criss cross top..if u want a totally covered top, make double of the instructed amount.
